Aristotle once said that, “The whole is greater than the sum of its parts.” What the great philosopher meant was that when individual parts are connected together to form one entity, they are worth more than if the parts were operating separately.
That’s how we feel at F.M. Construction. We make sure that all of our parts are working together seamlessly, and that means choosing only the best for our customers. And when it comes to selecting suppliers for the things we need to build your custom home, we opt for those that we’re sure will provide us with quality products at a price that offers you the best bottom line possible.
Selecting our suppliers
During more than two decades of experience in the custom homebuilding business, F.M. Construction has encountered a wealth of suppliers, some great and others not so good. Throughout those years, however, we’ve taken the time to weed out those less-than-desirable suppliers who charge too much or offer inferior goods, leaving us with only the best.
How do we decide which suppliers to use? It’s easy. We understand that our customers have two major goals in mind when choosing a custom home over an existing house that’s on the market. First, they are seeking the highest-quality materials and workers that know how to use those materials to build a strong and aesthetically-pleasing house. Secondly, they want to stick to their budget. While they understand that things happen that might cause them to exceed that budget, staying as close as possible to those proposed expenditures is tops on their list.
So, given those parameters, we have spent more than 20 years shopping for suppliers who can meet those needs. Our staff of professionals have sought out great deals on everything from bricks and wood to kitchen cabinets and landscaping needs, determining when to shoot for the lowest price or when to spend a little more for something of much greater quality that’s durable and long-lasting. Thanks to our years of experience, we know all the ins and outs of purchasing building supplies and our familiarity with the Greater Vancouver area means we also know where to go to find reputable dealers close to home. Furthermore, our vendors have come to understand that meeting our high standards means everything to us, so they do what’s necessary to remain among our preferred suppliers.
Local connections are important
We understand the importance of community. That’s why we do our best to choose suppliers who live and work in the Greater Vancouver area. We believe that supporting our region’s economy is paramount, so we’ve established meaningful business and personal relationships with many of the area’s best suppliers. It’s nice to keep business close to home whenever possible, and we’ve found that our local vendors are some of the best in the province.
Diversity and flexibility
While we’ve carefully cultivated quite a few long-standing relationships with favorite suppliers, we also understand that things change, including home styles, décor, and more. That’s why we sometimes make changes when we believe they will benefit our customers. We also try to keep a very diverse list of vendors that offer a wide variety of building supplies, which is especially important to our clients who are looking for something that’s a little bit out-of-the-box. Since everyone’s style and vision is unique, we need to be prepared to meet those visions, which is why we build relationships with vendors who offer options to fit every taste and budget, and why we always keep our eyes open for new suppliers offering interesting or cutting-edge products.
