Realtor Bernie Scholz is confident Ocean Bluff West has everything luxury-home buyers want in a home today.

The veteran realtor — he has 24 years in the business — says many potential buyers in this target market are downsizing from large homes because they don’t want the hassle of maintenance, but still want a high-end traditional home.

The six homes, two of which are completed, are being built by FM Construction in South Surrey near Ocean Park, and are solidly built with all the bells and whistles. For instance, the ceilings rise to 17 feet in the grand entrances, to 12 feet in the “great rooms” and to nine feet throughout the rest of the houses. But what makes these three-bedroom homes stand out beyond the stainless steel appliance package and granite countertops is the high level of finishing detail.

“The amount of moulding and detailing is a lot more than you would usually see,” says Scholz, who works with HomeLife.

“Builders can’t afford to do it because it costs more, but he [Yakabuski] is a finishing carpenter by trade and that’s his signature, so the homes he builds have it.”

Those buyers who want to put their own mark on their homes still have an opportunity before the next four homes are constructed to work with the builder for semi-custom touches.
